Just a few lines to share a thought or two.
Life has been going by faster each year I blinked and it's almost May of 2011.
People I love are leaving Earth and headed for Paradise with greater regularity.
and I am here considering eternity with my God and wondering what that might be like.
Knowing I'm not worthy of Heaven but sure that because of God's grace and the sacrifice of His only son on the cross I am assured of my destiny, is in a word awesome.
With God I am at peace. The things of this world cannot hurt me beyond destroying my physical body, which is but a temporary home for my eternal spirit and so I continue to do the best I can while I'm here, and hopefully bring one or two more people to Christ. It is all he asked us to do. Spread the Good News.
I don't normally go off in this direction but those of you who know me need to know my heart if you don't already.
I'm sending great love to all of you today.

The Rainbow Chaser
They said that she could have been a Prima Ballerina,
But instead she chose to dance along a beam with her arms extended gracefully
And swing unparalleled to the rhythm created in her mind...
She was but a child then,
With aspirations of triumphs and trophies
Filling her waking hours,
Dreams of Mt. Olympus , interwoven rings
And medals of gold, silver, and bronze.
She had become disciplined to the tasks at hand,
Following commands without question.
School to gym to bed...school to gym to bed...
Day after day...year after year.
Perfecting her art...
But...neglecting her heart...
Her small muscular body began to undergo metamorphosis,
Her hard lines became soft curves.
Her desires and goals carried her to the place of commitment
Where the arms that embraced her were nice arms...
And being untrained in matters of the heart,
She told herself, "This must be love!"
The love circled her but didn't appear to be within her grasp.
No matter where she reached she came up empty handed.
She found herself hungry...though her plate was surely full.
So the young woman began to follow rainbows
Slowly at first,
Tentatively...carefully...cautiously looking for its end
Hoping it might fill the loneliness.
Perhaps she was not fast enough...
So she proceeded to chase the rainbows that moved across her sky
Seeking desperately for an answer.
One afternoon, with little regard for the road signs
That moved past her view unnoticed,
She followed a rainbow into a clearing.
As she gazed at the illuminated rainbows end,
She marveled at its beauty as tears filled her eyes.
For it became painfully clear…
That beyond the beautiful lights that filled the meadow
Was neither a pot of gold,
Nor the answers she had sought,
There was just nothing.
She was filled with despair
So she started her car and with uncontrollable tears
Sadly went home vowing not to chase rainbows again.
And she did not mention to the nice arms her terrible disappointment...
As one season moved into another and a dozen seasons passed,
She became resigned, and being untrained in matters of the heart...
She said to herself "this must be life!"
Then one December day she spied a rainbow
Like none she had ever seen before.
It was so very beautiful it made her head spine and her stomach flip,
And her smile moved from her lips to her heart...
Though she promised herself not to,
She looked down and found she was moving toward it at such a pace...
Her feet felt as if they were not touching the ground at all.
She ran faster and faster...
As if her life depended on reaching its conclusion.
Frightened at what she might find
But sure as she had ever been,
That reaching it might finally bring her the peace
That eluded her all the years of her commitment.
There it was...
The rainbows end...
In the illuminated clearing was the figure of a man.
She was compelled to move toward him.
Feeling a warmth coming from him
Not unlike a fireplace blazing on a winters evening.
Calmness overtook her
And she found herself in his arms.
She felt safe...she felt sure...
And as she looked deep into his eyes,
She found all the colors of the rainbow staring back at her.
She told herself, "at last I have found love!"
And as the love circled her
She realized that no matter where she reached;
It was within her grasp.
Was he real?
Where had he come from?
In what dream did she conjure up his image?
He possessed a gentle smile
And she found herself revealing all her life to him willingly.
His large warm hands embracing her face
As she detailed the over loved sock monkey of her childhood,
And the delicate surgery necessary to repair him.
She knew deep in her soul that he could be trusted.
So as the words passed his lips she listened and believed.
As he stared at her very being
He said...
"My love for you will span time,
And there shall be no boundaries
No matter what your situation, when the sun finally rises
I will be there...
And as our days turn to years
I will soften your wrinkles with my fingertips
Read love sonnets when your eyes are too weak to see the page
And on your final day
I will rock you gently in my arms
Until the angels come to take you away from me
And I will cry bitter sweet tears
For each precious second I was allowed to be with you
And listen to you, and love you...
You see my darling I too was a rainbow chaser until today..."
Then the handsome stranger kissed her tenderly...
And as they walked away hand in hand,
It is said that the rainbow followed them until they were gone from sight!

Learning to go with the flow
One of the things I'm learning by being on weight watchers is to be patient...all the weight I gained that made me have reflux and feel tired all the time didn't happen over night it was a gradual attack against myself. The program has taught me to be happy over every little move in the right direction and not to beat myself up over set backs.

Letting God and letting go
Hey Friends,
This month has been one evening after another sending out query letters to publishers and prospective agents with only a very few letters back. However one bit of info for you out there that are writers...First book needs to be between 75,000 words to 80,000 words for an agent to show interest. Wish I would have known that a month ago as it would have saved me alot of time.
On the other hand I did receive a wonderful call yesterday from a new publisher who had asked to read The Gettysburg Ghost and he loved it. However he said he didn't believe he was big enough for the book, which he believed should be handled by a large publishing company. There is the rub!!! Too big for a small publishing company and because I have no representation unable to put it into the hands of a big publishing company. That's a perfect example of CATCH-22!
There is a spark of hope in that the nice gentleman, said he knew an agent and would send her the book via e-mail.
So you are probably thinking, what does all this have to do with the title of this blog? Well, what I've learned is God has a plan for all of us. We can't understand the plan because from our limited perspective we don't see how it all plays out. God wants us to do the very best we can in everything we do, but when you have done your best with no response, you just have to turn it over to God and have faith that if your efforts are meant to blossom then God will ensure that it happens. It isn't giving up by giving it to God, but rather it frees you to continue to move forward in whatever is your passion. Trust that God only wants the best for you, because he loves of all us in spite of our humanity.
The Gettysburg Ghost has touched over 10,000 people so far and I've received letters from readers that told me they have reread it over and over again. If you believe you have a voice for something whether its writing or singing or acting, or inventing or whatever, trust that voice inside, and trust God to carry you when doors shut, or letters arrive saying no thank you. Knowing that He is close and He loves you, will keep you moving forward and then just watch what happens.
God Bless you all today.

A few poems about love
Beauty
When I say you're beautiful
I say it with my heart
It isn't just the way you look
That's only a small part
It's merely but a fraction
Of everything I see
Only the beginning
Of what you mean to me
A heart that knows no boundaries
A soul that's oh so sweet
That I am more than mesmerized
Every time we meet
Compassion for your fellow man
Is always shining through
Not only in the things you say
But in everything you do
So when you ask me why
You're beautiful to me
Simply everything you are
Is everything I see.
Hearts demise
I have given my heart away
With complete knowledge
That it would be gone forever...
Held somewhere in some maiden’s memory
Never to be permitted to see the light of day
Until like a delicate blossom clipped too soon
It dies a lonely uneventful death,
Only remembered as a fleeting thought
If remembered at all.
Perhaps I should have chosen more wisely
As if that choice were mine...
But the heart that beats within my chest
Is as blind as the beggar
Who seeks alms in the courtyard
Nay nay my dear friend
She is forever the holder of the golden goblet
The frame elaborate for my picture perfect.
So if death be my heart's destiny
Then no sweeter a demise could I have known
And at no lovelier hands...
Could I have wished the end to come...?
